Maltitol is a low-calorie sweetener and a great sugar substitute that has a sweetness close to sugar but with fewer calories. Due to its low glycemic index, maltitol is ideal for products for people with diabetes and those who control blood sugar levels. It does not promote the development of caries, which makes it safe for teeth.
Due to its high water solubility and melting point of around 150°C, maltitol is ideal for use in confectionery, baking, beverages and pharmaceutical products.
